Corticosteroids
The most common and effective drugs used for long-term daily control of asthma (prevention of symptoms). They are most frequently inhaled using either a metered dose inhaler, dry powder inhaler, or nebulizer. Corticosteroids primarily decrease or prevent inflammation.
